about the writer
I’m a small town girl with endearing intentions. I recently moved away from my simple hometown to be with the one I love.
I never believed in love at first sight until I met Jonathan, & within a few weeks of dating, I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. On Christmas night of 2007, we eloped to Las Vegas, which is far from my character but, at the same time, suits me perfectly. (To see photographs of our spontaneous wedding, go here.) Yes, we married young, but we are no where near young minded.
I adore my husband; he is my very best friend. I owe most of the personal growth I have gained to him, for he has given me the courage to discover myself. He is quite wise (you can find his personal development blog here here) & I speak of him here as “Lover.” I also speak of my Shih Tzu puppy, Sofie Aiko. She is the reincarnation of my future child.
Jonathan & Sofie make up my new little family. We currently live near Los Angeles, in a very chic studio apartment. Eventually, we will leave this superficial city & go some place a bit more modest. But for now, we are comfortable here.
My life is complex, exquisite & sometimes very complicated & that makes for some very interesting stories. My curiosity & overactive imagination tends to get me into trouble. There are, however, some very dull moments in my life.
I have been a vegetarian for almost a year. I cherish my sporadic taste in music & I rarely listen to the radio. My iPod is on constant shuffle.
Right now, I’m re-reading “Entre Nous: A Woman’s Guide to Finding Her Inner French Girl” by Debra Ollivier. I sometimes share the pages of this book here, to help me retain it. I am also reading “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle, which is proving to be a life changing read. I have a horrible habit of starting books, but never finishing them.
I have one tattoo, I write with my left hand & I am quite introverted, with occasional outbursts of outgoingness. I would call myself a good girl in the whole scheme of things.
I’ve always had love for fashion as a form of expression. Although… I wouldn’t call myself a “fashionista;” not just because I despise the word (I really, really do), but because I don’t believe I am one. I just enjoy outwardly articulating my moods through fabrics & accessories; no more or less than that. (You can find my most favorite fashion statements here.)
First & foremost, I am a writer. :]
must reads:
the truth (my truth) hurts.
my life is like a movie, really.
the dress of many adventures.
small town girl.
I am diarist. there; I said it.
it’s the little things.
before I die, I must…
everything in its right place, in its right time.
beauty is fleeting.
