#38 – to be alone with you.

[NOTE: This photograph was not taken today. I shot this picture in September of last year, & since then I've been trying to come up with a reason to use it in my work. Not that today is a more perfect day than yesterday or the day before, but I just can't seem to get this picture out of my mind. So I have bended the rules a bit in my project 365 to get this picture seen by more than one pair of eyes.]

There is a place on your body that is my most favorite spot: the flesh between your lower eyelid & your cheekbone. Kissing this part of you makes my mouth water. It’s a reflex I cannot control. Your body whets & sates my appetite.

There is something remarkable about you that cannot be touched or put into words, but it’s undeniably apparent on your fingertips, in your smile, in your scent, on the tip of your tongue. I wish I could grab hold of the sensations I feel when you walk into a room.

You are as sensual as you are kind; as effortless as you are intelligent; as endearing as you are wise. You provoke unabashed vulnerability. You influence total mindfulness. You inspire perpetual beauty. You are otherworldly. Our souls were dancing long before our bodies ever collided.

To lay next to your warm body at night, to listen to the sounds of your breathing, to be the one that kindles a laugh from your belly, to have your undivided attention…

To be alone with you is the greatest gift I have ever been given.
