{#206}
I apologize for all of the predictable posts lately. I used to be more of a consistent & prolific blogger, but because I only post (on average) twice a week, I’m really lacking in the content department. Seems like Link Love Fridays is the only thing sure thing happening around here. I know I promised at the end of my hiatus that I would posting a lot more, but during the week I’m stifled at what I should write about because my life is kind of boring, to be honest. I’m not one to do anything worth bragging about, let alone devoting an entire blog post to. I lead a very simple, yet fulfilling life. & I’m not complaining — no news is good news, as they say! — it just makes for terribly boring blog content.
To kind of break the monotony that’s been looming at Apricot Tea, I wanted to invite you to ask me anything you might want to know about me or my life. I know I’ve done this before, but there’s a lot of new faces (eyes?) around here, & thought it would be a great conversation starter, if not a perfect distraction from my somewhat lackadaisical blog tendencies.
So, is there anything you want to ask or know about me? No matter how silly or random, ask it in the comments section & I’ll answer it in my next post (or perhaps in a video blog)! (Just be sure to view my FAQs first because your question might have already been answered.)
If you don’t have a question or don’t want to participate, that’s completely fine, too.
& now, onto the linkage that is tickling my fancy.
- Jonathan & I are challenging ourselves to eat 100% vegan for the entire month of August, & I can’t wait to make these vegan chocolate chip cookies.
- Thanks to Our City Lights for sharing this, I now want to get married again, too. Too gorgeous for words.
- A Minimalist Wardrobe for Men – What to Avoid. Spot on! Though, I would have added the subtitle “Or, How to Dress Like a Douche-Bag.” Yikes.
- Jonathan wrote a very spot on post himself about how to be a better blogger: do something awesome & share your story.
- Creative Wall Treatments for Homes = WANT.
- & many, many thanks to Coco & Creme for featuring me as one of their top 9 fashion bloggers. It is an honor to be amongst such a gorgeous & talented group of women.

I love your idea of going vegan for the month of August. As an on-off vegan myself (I’m from Wisconsin – I can’t help but love cheese), I would love to hear what vegan recipes you use and love this month.
Also, I just wanted to say – your blog is one of the most inspiring I’ve come across. It’s very down to earth, and you actually have something to say – which is more than a lot of bloggers can claim. Thank you.
I just have to say I love your links! The wedding video made me misty-eyed – so pretty! My question is, when are we going to have another book club? I miss all you girls!
Will you post a variety of the vegan recipes you’ll be using in August? I have several vegetarian recipes that I love, but would love to add some vegan recipes to my repertoire.
I have a question for you. A while back (I think it was about a year ago?) you posted about your feelings toward sex and talked about your difficulty becoming comfortable in the bedroom and developing healthy attitudes toward sex. What have you done and how have things changed for you (and Jonathan) since that post?
I’m going completely vegan for the month of September, so yes, please share some of your favorite recipes :)
& here is my question:
You seem like such a strong and confident woman. Do you ever have feelings of insecurity, self-doubt & low self-esteem? And if so, what do you do to cope with these feelings?
I found out about your blog via Coco & Creme and I fell in love with it. I’ve been a vegan since the start of this year & would love for you to share some of the recipes you two try. I’m experimenting with a few myself. :D
My question for you is:
Has anyone ever told you that you kind of resemble Fefe Dobson?
eek! I hope you love the cookies! There’s a recipe for vegan oreos on my site too, you know, if you want MORE cookies. Let me know if I can help you in your vegan journey <3
You need to try these. Sooo yummy. Not sure about the frosting since I made a non vegan version, but seriously so good!

What are your thoughts on premarital sex?
We know you’re a great writer and a fashionista–what are some of your lesser known talents?
What are you most proud of?
You should start or join a unique club in your area to give yourself something to focus on or write about! What kind of club would you start?
Hi Ev’yan.
I know this is a weird question, but do you ever diet? Or do you eat what you want, when you want (within vegetarian limits, of course)? It’s just that, whenever I try to go vegetarian I get these cravings for all the stuff I’m ‘not allowed’. I was wondering how you get around this problem. Best wishes.
Great to see you embrace a completely plant-based menu for August. I have been eating exclusively plant-based for 11 years. So let me know if you want some vegan recipes I have tons of favs.
I would love to try this. I’m loving your blog!
First, I made sure to check FAQ section!
You could tell us more about your cosmetology background
I too love the blog and would look forward to the meals you will be eating this month.
How are you exploring what it is you actually want to do? What have you learned in the last two years as you have tried to figure it out?
Thanks!
You know, Ev’Yan.. you’re like the friend I never had. While your posts today as quite different from the old ones, I still see your strong personality and authenticity shine through, and for that, I keep coming back. :) You are truly an inspiration – you’ve made me feel more comfortable with being myself. And you shaving your head completely, COMPLETELY changed the way I feel about my being bald (I’ve had Alopecia Totalis for a while now, and at 19, it’s kind of hard). So, thank you.
I’d like to ask: Where do you see yourself 10 years from now? Any future plans?
What are your thoughts on this?:
