Last October, I was asked by Brand About Town to host a yoga Wii Fit™ Plus party for me & my friends. Naturally, I was overjoyed! & then really skeptical. Because my first thought was, Great; this means I’ll actually have to break a sweat. (I’m the kind of girl who absolutely loathes all forms of exercising.) But I pushed my skepticism aside & decided to do it, because it was something I hadn’t ever done. Not to mention, how cool are those Wii™ games?
The party came before I knew it. Initially, I was excited because I had invited an eclectic mix of people, ranging from family members to BBFFs (best blog friends forever) to friends of friends whom I’d never met. Once all the guests arrived, our yoga instructor began to show us the nifty features of the Wii & the Wii Fit Plus. & soon after, we were breaking a small sweat doing simple yoga poses & playing fun Wii games, assisted by the oh-so-friendly Nintendo crew.
We also got familiar with customizing our own workouts, determining how many calories we’d like to burn, & applying certain workouts to problem areas, like our mid-sections & posture; even exercises we could do to quickly warm up our body temperatures. It was ridiculously easy to operate, not to mention ridiculously fun. So it’s no wonder that we all kind of forgot that this was supposed to be an exercise class.
As the party was coming to a close — & I truly didn’t want the night to end – the kind people at Nintendo surprised me with my very own Wii system & Wii Fit Plus! All of my guests also received a copy of Wii Fit Plus. Nobody went home empty handed. The smiles on everyone’s faces (mine included) practically lit up the entire studio. The perfect end to the perfect evening. (& many, many thanks to all of my guests who attended the party!)

You’d be very happy to know, too, that I no longer abhor exercising. Granted, I don’t love it, but I’ve learned to thoroughly enjoy it. & while I still struggle with getting motivated to workout everyday, I no longer view exercise as a daunting, boring, ritualistic chore. Working out with the Wii Fit Plus has definitely given me a new appreciation for exercise, & I have a blast doing it.
& I won’t be the only one having a blast getting fit with the Wii Fit Plus.
Nintendo has given me a Wii system & Wii Fit Plus, & I’ll be giving it away to one of my lucky readers. (That could be you!)
