Yesterday, Jonathan & I went to a free jazz concert. It’s hosted at a bookstore near our house, & they do it every Sunday near the end of Summer. Ever since I moved here, he & I have gone together, so it’s one of those things that we really look forward to.
I took Sven with us — also known as Nikon D60 — with the intent of getting some amazing shots for my 365 project. & oh, how people stare & inquire when you’re carrying a nice camera. I had several people come up to me asking me specific things about our Nikon; many of which I had no idea what they were talking about. But I just grinned, nodded my head up & down, & said, “Oh yes, it really IS such a great camera.”
At the end of the night, I told Jonathan that we’re not going to be bringing Sven out in public if he causes that much of an uproar. Because to be perfectly honest: I’m clueless as to how this camera works. I mean, I know how to focus, point, & shoot, but that’s about as far as it goes. I suppose I need to read up on these things…
& I finally hung up my collage picture. It’s looks stunning on a wall, rather than the floor.

I kind of LOVE that shirt.
So, basically, I need to come visit and play cameras for a while. Can’t wait! ;)
I love those shorts! Also, I think we need a better photo of the collage. Close up, please? :) (or is there already one somewhere?)
@ Michelle: Here is a better photo of it, though it doesn’t do it much justice. I wrote about it on my blog a few months ago. :]

I have a Nikon D60 and I have no idea how to use it either :( the quality was just such an upgrade from my old point and shoot that I never bothered to learn how to take even better photos.
I think it’s funny how a big camera can still make you look so “professional”, even though everybody and their brothers have big DSLRs nowadays ;)
My bf just got me a D60 for my birthday. I’m still in awe so haven’t named it as yet.
Read the manual! It will open up an amazing new artistic beautiful world that you can step into like the looking glass. So worth it!
love the collage
and i love my d60 too but YES it sometimes causes an uncomfortable uproar of attention…
I was about to mention the collage on the wall. Very pretty!
Oh, yes and people will F-stop and shutter speed you to pieces. Some man went on and on for about 20 minutes. I just smiled and nodded my way thorough.
I hope you two had a good time!
That jazz concert sounds awesome, and I love your outfit. Stylish. I wish I had a big fancy camera, but I’m technology challenged so I would be hopeless when it comes to answering questions.
i liek the &! i recall, don’t you have a tattoo of the ampersand?
I love, love, love your shoes. They are absolutely fabulous! I’ve been looking for a pair myself honestly.
& oh my goodness, your collage! I would love to do something like that but I think I’d probably get frustrated with it too quickly.
& I’m totally jealous of that jazz concert.

HAHA, you named your camera Sven?
Apricot, I “found” your site when Jonathan put a link to it in Illuminated Mind last week. I think I read all of it. and I want to thank you for your raw honesty, particularly regarding your anxiety and depression. They are a part of my life, as well, along with many members in my family. I plan to start a blog in the future, something about my life and what I am learning, and it will definitely include the dark side of depression and the effects of anxiety in my life. I had a particularly bad day on Sunday, and your art inspired me to create a mixed media piece of my own to describe my day. This is a BIG first for me, as I have always been intimidated my the artistic abilities of my late mother and one of my brothers. When I finish it, I will send you a picture. I feel so much better, and it’s due in part to my “art therapy.” Thank you for sharing!
I would love to have that camera- I don’t have people coming over to ask about my Rebel but it’s probably for the best, I’m sure even if I knew what to say I’d choke up ;)
ohhh i love your whole look, the shoes are awesome!!
love the shirt, love the shoes, love the tights, love the collage!! LOVE! :D
Love your look! I wanted to share with you that I just started reading your husband’s blog and it has help me out tremendously. You both are very talented and kind people! Keep writing and inspiring both of you!
It’s funny how carrying something as simple as a camera around would garner so much attention!
typography + tee = yes. Yeah, I use math to describe things.
I love that tee shirt and your whole look in general! So glad to have found your blog.
shirt is a perfect fit..as are those shorts..such an awesome outfit
Umm, I absolutely adore that your camera’s name is Sven! I need a name for mine!
Your shirt matches your tattoo! Love it!
Love the ampersand shirt to match the tatt. So they see you coming and they see you going too.
Also: want to watch Henry & June because am interested in both writers! (Henry Miller and Anais Nin)
Hey haven’t seen you around the blogosphere lately! Those shoes are stellar! They remind me of the URBN ones that are ridiculously overpriced! I might just fetch a pair of my own.
