apricot’s closet: boring outfit/blabbering thoughts.

vegas 026

pants & new sandals are from Ross; purse & necklace are from Forever21; necklaces are my own creations.

Last night, I was looking at Google Analytics, analyzing how people find my blog through interesting keyword searches. & one person found my blog by searching “stop feeling inferior to girls that are prettier.” I’m not sure which post she — I’m going to assume it’s a ‘she’ — found that directed her to my blog, but the search phrase has stuck with me ever since seeing it. It truly is the perfect mantra.

Stop feeling inferior to girls that are prettier.
Stop feeling inferior to girls that are prettier.
Stop feeling inferior to girls that are prettier.
Stop feeling inferior to girls that are prettier.
Stop feeling inferior to girls that are prettier.
Stop feeling inferior to girls that are prettier.

Yes, Ev’Yan, stop it.

& while you’re at it, stop second-guessing yourself.

Your “boring” style is still gorgeous. And sometimes we all need that reminder – PS though, you’re stunning, inside and out. xoxo :)

i hate days when i am my worst enemy. don’t second guess yourself – you are wise. you are beautiful. you are honest. you are good people.

ps. i love how you pull off grey. i struggle with that color!

I’m wearing almost the same thing today! We’re twins, sort of. :)

    That’s a great mantra.

    And you’re lovely.

I love the mantra, but I think you should just cut it down to “stop feeling inferior”. :)

    Awesome necklace!

And yea, I think that is a pretty great mantra. I think a lot of girl drama stems from being unnecessarily threatened by other girls or by feeling non-existent competition!

Sometimes boring outfits are the best. But I must say, yours isn’t all that boring! Love your necklace. And that mantra is powerful.

I love outfits like the one you are wearing: so stylishly simple.

My heart breaks for whoever was searching for ways to make themselves feel better. I keep picturing a young girl (maybe 13 or 14?) being so frustrated with her appearance and not knowing what to do.

That whole inferiority thing, it can get the best of you sometimes, WHICH SUCKS. But thankfully, it’s a feeling that passes.

This is true!! So many times we are busy looking at our flaws that we forget how beautiful we are. It’s like we face people daily and they say aww you are beautiful or you look nice…and then we go home and look in the mirror and think “what the hell are they looking at? or ” they were only trying to be nice” Ev’Yan I dont know you personally but your pictures & beauty is what drew me into your blog and then the few times we spoke the email i realized that it’s not just on the outside it’s also within. We have to stop looking at who is prettier than us even though they may seem like they dont have any imperfection believe it or not they do!!! So now that I have encouraged myself lol im gonna go :)

Wearing jeans and a tee and still exuding all manner of fabulousness is what style is. Ev, you have it.

And girl, people have found my blog with the most random of search words. ‘Tranny’ seems to come up a lot. LOL.

The mantra is golden. It should be printed just like that on a shirt.

That mantra is oddly cyclic because once one stops feeling inferior and gains some confidence, they end up feeling and seeming prettier to themselves and others.

I want to put that quote across my mirror.

Amen, my dear. I need to keep that in the back of my mind, too. It’s so difficult sometimes, because I believe that most girls these days are used to constantly comparing themselves to everyone around them. It’s awful. I wish I could stop.

And, for the record, I seem to recal several conversations that took place in Vegas, in which we basically talked about how you were gorgeous beyond all reason. Yes, we were talking behind your back. And yes, they were all good things.

    :)

I can definitely appreciate someone who can take an outfit from Ross and Forever 21 and make it look just as fabulous as the girl rockin expensive brands. I think you’re great! This is my first time on here and I’m loving it thus far. The outfit is cute and the your mantra is cool. Keep on keepin’ on!!!
