vegas vacation.

In a little over 24 hours, I will be in Las Vegas to meet the likes of Kyla, Kerri (again!), Nicole, Kaitlin (again!), Rachel, Steph, & many other fabulous bloggers. I’m so excited! Jonathan & I haven’t been to Vegas since when we got married…
I’m sort of looking at this trip as a time for me to step completely out of my shell & not be so damned introverted. Perhaps I’ll finally make some bloody friends, & stop being such a loner. Perhaps I’ll get a little rowdy (although I highly doubt it). Perhaps I’ll have a drink or two. Although… that might be pushing it a little, because I’ve sort of [unofficially] sworn myself to being SxE (straight edge); I haven’t had alcohol in about 2 years. But it would be interesting have Jonathan be the desiganated driver for a change… I’ll play it by ear.
We’ll be leaving tomorrow around noon, staying until Sunday. From LA, Vegas is about 3 hours away. If I’m driving, though — & I intend to, because Jonathan drives like a grandpa — we’ll get there in 2 hours, maybe less.
I guess I forgot to mention that one of my nicknames is Speed Racer.

aww have fun! should be a blast. i’m introverted too.. but i’m sure vegas can help get you out of your shell. i’m not a big fan of drinking. haven’t drank in 5 years and just started a bit here and there again… but i’m thinking of going back to not drinking :P it just doesn’t do anything for me.

Seriously? I totally get the whole introverted/loner thing. Sounds terrible to write it out, but it’s true. :) I’m the same way. And I think that’s okay.
At least we get to hang out with a bunch of people that we already know we like, right? That’s the best part about this trip! We get to actually see these people face-to-face, and there really isn’t any grand expectation. Just be yourself – which is incredibly adorable and silly and wonderful, if I remember correctly.

Hopefully there aren’t any creepy, dim walkways this time around, like the last time we met. You never know. Heehee.

I am totally like you and would fit in with you and some of the girls (there seem to be a few who seem to have the “introvert”-thing going for them), but unfortunately I am not coming to Vegas.

Maybe it’s the marriage that makes us more “introverted,” because I’m very shy as well. I hang out with Husband more than friends, and I only have a handful of CLOSE friends.

apricot, have a great time in vegas! i live in vegas and honestly hope you enjoy the weather (it has been sort of cool for vegas this time of year, only 80 degrees today) and enjoy the strip! make sure you go to downtown vegas by the fremont street experience to see some vintage casinos, neon signs, and general raucous behavior. enjoy your trip!!

It was so wonderful meeting you and Jonathan. If it matters at all, I didn’t think of you as an introvert, but that might not mean much coming from someone else who tends to be one.
Whatever it’s worth, I loved having someone to mock McDonalds with! I still don’t know how the heck I thought you had kids?

How fabulous! Vegas is such a fun time. I’m looking forward to heading there with the girls shortly! Btw, I can totally relate to being an introvert… being rather shy and slow to warm up upon first meeting! Have a wonderful time!
