cape dress, from Cali; pants, from Ross; gladiator sandals, from Target; ampersand charm necklace, from Luna Clay Design; bracelets are miscellaneous.
There is something so effortlessly cool about wearing a dress with jeans. I love the look, & I love this dress.
It has such an interesting silhouette, but it only shows when I’m walking around. I tried to do a jump-shot so that I could depict the neat way it moves, but the dress didn’t budge. Even so, the picture — which was NOT as easy as it looks — turned out interestingly. I look like I’m flying. (You can see the picture here.)
I foresee this dress & these amazing gladiator sandals being worn a lot for the summer.
& it seems as though summer has already arrived here in Southern California. The weather forecast says that it will be 98 degrees (F) today… We’re not even in May yet. Somebody kill me, please.

Absolutely gorgeous, as per usual darling. I have always adored wearing jeans and dresses together. And I really love your sandals. I have a vintage pair of brown leathers ones I picked up last summer they go so well with hippie dresses.
And I’m so jealous of your summer weather. It’s warmer here, but not the HOT HOT HOT weather I crave so badly.
Look the sandals! I can’t be its in the 90′s for you guys! I live in NY and its 45 degrees out! And its windy and raining! Sigh… You are so lucky!
Your dress is so fantastic
like the dress and sandals, but NOT with the pants, weird.
That is a fantastic dress!
As usual you look great. I use to like wearing dresses with pants (I don’t dress anymore just khakis and t-shirts these days).
I think calling someone’s look weird is bad manners.
I love the dress/jeans combination! :)
what a gorgeous dress! i love gladiator sandals and will be wearing them all summer as well!
ugh, we have such bipolar weather here in southern canada. just yesterday it was sunny & warm, and today it’s rainy & gloomy.
I hear you! I’m sooo not a fan of hot weather either. Its in the 80s in Berkeley and I’m already dying.
I effing LOVE gladiator sandals (but especially when you wear them, lol)… but you knew that already? :D I am always amazed when people find well-fitted pants at Ross… I never do. This could be due to the fact that I am impatient with trying on jeans and also that I have partially given up the search… but anyway… I really like those cape style dresses. *nodnod*
I’m loving your effortless style. quite inspiring!
Gorgeous dress, Ev! Cute sandals, too.
And mygod, this weather is ridiculous.
tell me about it..it’s been disgusting here too..i hate hot weather!! =(
i ove those sandals..and i would wear them often too if they were mine!
your post convinces me a little bit more of the virtues of LARGE clothing… Long live this comfy trend!
@ brandy: cry about it.
@ learna: I can take constructive criticism, & that is why I accepted your previous comment & the others you’ve left in the past. But what I will not take is unnecessary & immature rudeness from & towards others. If you’ve nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all. It would be better for you, because the next ill-mannered comment from you will be ignored & deleted.
If you don’t like this blog, or the people who comment on it, I suggest you go elsewhere. Or if you like the “attention” you get when you make such comments, there are millions of blogs on the internet in which you can wreak havoc (perhaps you should create your own!) but my blog will not be one of them.
As I said before, I can take constructive criticism & even a comment that disagrees with my views. I’ve tried to be fair by listening to ALL voices of my readers — even the not so nice ones — but I will not stand for someone coming into MY DOMAIN & being insulting.
Let this be a warning: if you — or anyone else, for that matter! — continue to make such comments on my blog, don’t waste your little fingers typing; they will get deleted without a second glance.
go EV’yan tell their butt!!!
I, on the other hand, love dresses with pants. I wear them like that quite often, actually.
And, Ev’Yan — I love your look.
Also, in response to the comment on my post, there is a website to see if someone is copying. http://www.copyscape.com — you can also get a “do not copy” badge from there.
I love you Ev’Yan, your response is perfect. =)
What an amazing dress. I love pieces with different lengths – things hanging out from every which way. ; )

Love those gladiator sandals! They look so good on you! I wasn’t totally sold on them when I saw them at Target but now I’m thinking I should snag em! So cute!!
And you’re rockin that dress! Dresses over jeans are so great!
Dude, great response to the lame-o-kablamo hate mail. Not cool, people! Doesn’t this world have enough hate in it already? Snarky internet comments do not belong on this blog! Listen up people!
honetly you are a pure image of rhianna
Funny, I just blogged about something similar – I used to wear a dress with jeans all the time because I was afraid to show my feet/ankles, and I loved how breezy and unique it felt. Glads for the same reason. Love mine!!!
*lusty* x0x0
Love the dress and you have my favourite hair of all the bloggers!.x
I definitely appreciate how sometimes a silhouette doesn’t really come across in photos, but this looks great to me! Those sandals really do seem to suit you, and not just aesthetically, but in some kind of woo woo personality essence type way. :)
cute hair =)
I love your cape dress!!! It looks gorgeous on you.
Oh wow I love the hemline of your dress so unique!
