all your fears are lies.

lies-011-pola2

customized Hanes t-shirt (using a sharpie marker) & acid-washed jeans, from Target; cardigan, from Charlotte Russe.

Inspired by discotheque confusion, who suggested:

“grab a marker… & customise a white t-shirt.”

I saw this sentence on a bumper sticker a few months ago, & it completely resonated with me; so much, that it’s become a very intimate mantra of mine ever since. Whenever I feel fear (or anxiety) seeping into my thoughts, my mind booms with “all your fears are lies!” It’s been a great sentence to remember in times of timidness & doubt. & shy of me tattooing it across my body, a white tee shirt is the perfect canvas for it.

Not to mention, what a great way to have something “new” in your closet, without spending any money!

Q: if you could customize your own white t-shirt, what would it say?

    what a great slogan!

my boyfriend made a t shirt that says ‘no one sees anyone’ around the leaves of a tree. it’s quite lovely.

i’m not sure what i’d like my tshirt to say .. i’ll have to think.

Mine would be similar to yours but would say,

Feel the fear and do it anyway!

    That’s what I live by.

I would probably customize a t-shirt with: “You cannot have a beautiful ending, without making beautiful mistakes” which is pretty much my motto. Although I DO plan on getting a tattoo of it some day.

Also, I would love t-shirts with just my favorite song lyrics.

Everything Happens For a Reason – well, that’s just one off the top of my head. Not very catchy but true (to me). I would totally wear your shirt though! Very true as well :P

What an awesome idea for a DIY — a message that means something to you, and it looks so effortlessly chic. :)

Sometimes I’m told I’m a little overly languid. I guess that “fight or flight” switch in my brain just isn’t easily triggered? Regardless, I’ve developed kind of a catchphrase, where when one of my (many) antsy friends is ranting about being wigged out, I just shake my head and really flatly say “Fear is the mind killer.” The same way you might say “You’re doing it wrong.”

It’s actually from Dune — and from the ridonkulous David Lynch film adaptation, insofar as my quotation goes. Anyway, that’s what I’d write on my own t-shirt, except I don’t think text could convey the necessarily earnest tone. Saying it with any of the drama that the phrase itself implies would rob it of all its meaning.

“Sic transit gloria mundi” (thus fades the glory of the world)

    or

“Memento mori” (remember that you are mortal)

Morbid, I know, but those are my two favorite Latin sayings. They each bear a heavy significance to me and I plan on getting them as tattoos soon.

Oh wait, something a little less morbid would be, “I survived Neverland.” Haha.

Gotta love the lady who wrote, “I love pizza”, haha.

it would be either two things:

    1) Patience is bitter but the fruit of it is sweet- Jean Jacques Rousseau

    orrr

    2) “Procrastination is like masturbating it feels good at first until you realized you screwed yourself over in the end”

Where did you get those stencils to make those lettering?!?!? <3!!

@ everyone: All of your shirt statements are terrific! They’re very inspiring. Thanks for enlightening me. :]

@ Kelly: I didn’t use stencils at all! That is my own handwriting. :] But I am flattered at the notion that you thought it was stenciled!
