cardigan, from Ruche; white tee, from American Apparel, courtesy of trendyblanks.com; drop crotch pants, from Target; sandals, from Ross; jewelry is miscellaneous.
Yesterday, I perused around Old Town for a few hours, window-shopping & book-browsing. Lover got off of work early & met me there… & we had a sushi lunch together at Kabuki. It was my first real sushi experience.
Because today was 20sb’s vlogging day, I wanted to join in on the action, too. So here I am… making a complete imbecile of myself, for your viewing pleasure.
By the way…
It’s very difficult to make up creative dance moves, involving your hands, sitting in a chair. But at least I’ve got good rhythm.
I did another vlog today, where I was reading jokes off the internet & cracking myself up (you can see that here, if you’d like)… but the lip-syncing & carrying on was so much more fun.
blazer is very vintage; cape dress, from Cali; tights & bracelets, from H&M; boots, from Payless; necklaces are miscellaneous.
Remember this? Well, this is the little lovely blazer to match. & of course, my arms are way too long, so I had to roll up the sleeves. (I feel like I’m shaped so awkwardly: big hands & feet, long arms & legs, & taller than my own parents. It’s a little maddening.)
I wore this to my dentist appointment a few days ago. I was definitely overdressed, but I didn’t care.
&… For Valentine’s Day, my wonderful husband gave me this:
He created this picture himself — along with a cute little card — using an old photograph of us when we were very little; around the ages of three & four. Look how adorable he is! & I haven’t changed a bit…
Either way, I’m completely in love with this little photograph — as well as my darling husband for making something so special for me. & I figured you would all get a kick out of seeing baby apricot, & baby illuminated mind. :]
Oh, & don’t forget about the Love Celebration going on in my little shop, apricot’s closet! Find something you like while everything is drastically on sale! Because the lovin’ ends on the 28th.
crocheted shirt was a gift; ripped pants, from Jaloux; sandals, from Ross; bracelets, from H&M; necklace, from Ruche; longer necklace, from apricot’s closet (SALE!).
I haven’t worn this shirt since I wrote about it a few months ago; because I felt that wearing it would take away its sentimentality. But those feelings are gone now; I dug it out of my closet today. How silly was I to have tucked this handmade shirt away, when it’s so charming?
I am also surprised at how well it goes with these pants! Very unconventional, I think, considering that this shirt was created by a feeble old woman in her 80s. No doubt that it should be worn with some kind of polyester pant, with white Keds, & perhaps a cane as an accessory. But my obliterated jeans mesh perfectly — or, rather, I’m making them mesh perfectly.
& wow; my feet look unnaturally large in that last picture.
A picture of me & my new little sister, Valerie Jane. I wish I could describe meeting her for the first time, but the feelings are still being processed. I’m sure I will articulate my emotions eventually but for now, it’ll be left unsaid. One thing’s for sure: she is a cutie pie; & she wouldn’t stop smiling at me.

It’s a constant question for any young married couple: When will you start a family?
For me, this question comes in many forms:
“When’re you going to give me some grandchildren?”
“When’re you going to give me some great-grandchildren?”
“You guys should make some babies already!”
“So… when will we see your belly start to grow, Ev’Yan?”
“When you have a baby…”
“You & Jonathan will make some gorgeous little babies!”
I remember when I first announced my elopement at work. It was met with a few raised eyebrows, but for the most part, a lot of congratulatory wishes. & the very first question that people asked right after I finished gushing about my rendezvous in Las Vegas was: “So… when are you gonna have a baby?” (Because, apparently, “first comes love, then comes marriage, & then comes a baby in a baby carriage.”)
I hate to admit that this bothered me — because it’s just a question, after all — but it did.
