Jacket, from Ruche; shirt (which is actually my sister’s), from American Apparel, courtesy of trendyblanks.com; shorts, from Ross; tights, from Target; shoes, from DSW.
My order from Ruche came about 24 hours after I confirmed it, on standard delivery. (& that is very, very fast for an impatient girl like me.) So I was completely overjoyed, to say the least.
This cardigan is just gorgeous; it’s made of organic cotton, so it’s soft, lightweight, & very comfortable. Even though the price of this cardigan was basically my whole gift card ($50), I couldn’t resist.
& the tree necklace is just as lovely. I love how my order exudes “natural”, what with the tree & the organic cotton cardigan, & everything.
necklace, from Ruche.
& even though I said I despise them, I made a list of resolutions (I’ll call them decisions) I’ve made for 2009.
I’ve decided to:
- wear more makeup.
- not talk so much, because I have a tendency to over explain. (Less is more.)
- become a better photographer. (With a $600 camera, I had better.)
- get Sofie spayed, vaccinated, & licensed, so that we can take her to the dog park.
- meet some of my California blogging friends. (Alicia, Kerri, Sarah, Diana, Katelin, & whoever else wants to meet silly old me, in the flesh.)
- stop envying others, just because they are seemingly prettier, richer, more popular, sexier, skinnier, etc. & while I’m at it, embrace the inevitable fat dimples (cellulite) on my derriere.
- find my niche; be it a writer, a painter, a jewelry maker, a photographer, a “fashionista”… or all of the above.
- worry, frown, & cry a little less.
- master the art of vegan baking; if not that, then succumb to the usage of eggs.
- not censor myself… even if, for instance, I know my mother reads this blog.
- have more sex. (My declaration of this goes with no longer wanting to censor myself, obviously.)
- dance, dance, dance.

That necklace is too fabulous.
And I just love your resolutions! I’m looking for my niche/passion as well. It’s hard when I have so many!
Get Vegan with a Vengeance out of the library. I swear her baking recipes are the BEST.
Those are some sensible good resolutions! And i am off to check out Ruche.
Don’t give up on vegan baking! Vegan Cupcakes Take Over The World is an amazing vegan cupcake cookbook (http://vegancupcakes.wordpress.com/) and there are lots out there – take them out from your library = )
I love that cardigan, the draping detail is very cool.
Wow! I had never heard of Ruche, but their stuff is awesome. Thank you for that!!
And definitely give it your best with the vegan baking — it’s actually really easy and VERY tasty!!
you are such a beautiful person and you’re resolutions are amazing! happy 2009! xox
LOVE the cardy. So much interesting detail.
And yes, darlin. We do need to have a meet up. I would suggest soon, but my car is ((still)) out of commission. Booooooooooooooooo.
I’m rooting for you babe. I also agree that we need to take care of Sofie’s stuff. That can’t be put off any longer.
This year will be blissful.
My resolution… expand my vocabulary by using words that aren’t normally in my character. Like finding words other than daunting and reclaim.
I love you.
you’re so pretty WITHOUT the makeup though….
That outfit is fantastic!!!! Seriously tho,I want to copy every bit of it but fear that if I do I would never be as adorable as you! I’ve never heard of Ruche! I must check it out! That cadigan is gorgeous. Those are some great resolutions
I ned to compile a list of my own for sure . My fag of yours is the one about not censoring yourself any longer, I could def learn from that one!
Ok so you’ll have to excuse all of my ridiculous typos, I’m typing on my moms iPhone and apparently it has a mind of it’s own when it comes to what I’m trying to say ;)
ok, so I’m quite the horrible procrastinator. the holidays have kept so busy with fam coming in that I’ve not had time to put your pkg. together. its on my desk as a daily reminder of all these small errands I need to take time out to do. very soon.
just wanted to say I lurve this outfit! oh my guh!
I’ve a semi-coffee-date coming up soon, so I might have to do a little Apricot Tea fashion…
hope you have a fabulous weekend.
I absolutely love your style! It reminds me of my own actually. I love pairing tights with shorts and right now Im wearing an open cardigan almost like the one your wearing in the picture except yours is way cuter! Please check out my blog sometime! (likelillyvintage.blogspot.com) I have to won you though its really recent so theres almost nothing on it right now!
Love the blog. Love the design. Love it.

i love your cardigan. and your resolutions!
Congrats on winning the contest! Yayyy!!!! I love what you picked out as your prizes! That cardigan is gorgeous and the necklace is so cute!
I really like your resolutions … and I would love to meet up with you! I’m going to be in L.A. this month for a business trip — Jan. 28-30. I’m not sure what my schedule is/what time of day I’ll be free — but I mentioned to Kerri I’d like to meet up too! Maybe we could have a girls’ night out?
I love this outfit, and agree, your cardigan is gorgeous.
wow, I adore the ruche cardigan/jacket, what a fantastic piece
you look great – and nice intention – have a great start of 2009
Happy new year to you too! I hope you had a wonderful time with your loved ones. I missed blogging while my blog was offline, but I needed the break. I (and the blog) needed a fresh start and i think it’s best this way :D
Your jacket looks amazing, I’ll check out ruche right away. :)
I’m loving all your resolutions, and that outfit is wonderful! I need to have you make me look cute like you — I’m so terrible at matching clothing and making it look cute/trendy!
Awesome choices for using the gift card, you do look really natural. :)
And all very good “decisions” as well. I promise you will love vegan baking, it is not too hard and so much fun! Go get “Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World,” because it’s definitely one of my favorites…everything I have tried from that one had been perfect!
:)
AHHH! i nearly screeched out of my knickers when i saw my name on your resolutions list!
i want to be real friends. desperate much? kerri, you, and i should definitely make a wine and dine extravaganza sooner than later!!!
love the “organic-ness” you look absolutely serene and divine.
You’re beautiful, with & without make up. But, I like your New Year decisions very much. I’m procrastinating putting together some of mine, because I actually want to sit down and think about it for once instead of just scribbling out random things that I’d like at the moment.
Have a good day :)
Ooh I love this look, Apricot! You’re adorable :)
I have a question for you apricot…Do you think brown and grey go together in an outfit?? If so then prove it if you will. Thanks! Just a little contest me and a few bloggers are starting! And for anyone else thats reading this…TRY IT!…and let me know what you came up with on my blog : )
I just got here from ‘the illuminated mind’ & i am completely struck by your amazing style. i’ve always wanted to try a cute short cut like yours, too scared! good luck in 2009.
the cardi is adorable. lately i’ve been obsessed with all things layered and asymmetrical so i really like your cardigan!
jack and i cut daryl’s hair ourselves :) we invested in a cutter after the $30 petco one gave in within 5 cuts…and the ‘new’ one has been working great since! where do you take sophie? pasadena meet sounds fun :)
Awesome photo, awesome outfit! The color is absolutely rich and beautiful.
I’m a fan of the lights on the bookcase, too. I say keep them up all year! We have some around our window in the bedroom and I don’t want to take them down at all. Perhaps I won’t.
And I am right there with you on many of those resolutions – especially on being less envious, on having more sex (did I just type that publicly – eep!) and finding my niche. Best of luck to us both! :)
PS: You’re amazing.
I loveeee this cardigan!!!! Organic clothing is so fabulous. I might have to copy you on this one and pick it up.
You look so amazing! I’m so glad you liked the cardi and necklace. =) Cheers to the New Year!
