apricot’s closet: organic.

Jacket, from Ruche; shirt (which is actually my sister’s), from American Apparel, courtesy of trendyblanks.com; shorts, from Ross; tights, from Target; shoes, from DSW.

My order from Ruche came about 24 hours after I confirmed it, on standard delivery. (& that is very, very fast for an impatient girl like me.) So I was completely overjoyed, to say the least.

This cardigan is just gorgeous; it’s made of organic cotton, so it’s soft, lightweight, & very comfortable. Even though the price of this cardigan was basically my whole gift card ($50), I couldn’t resist.

& the tree necklace is just as lovely. I love how my order exudes “natural”, what with the tree & the organic cotton cardigan, & everything.

necklace, from Ruche.

& even though I said I despise them, I made a list of resolutions (I’ll call them decisions) I’ve made for 2009.

I’ve decided to:

  • wear more makeup.
  • not talk so much, because I have a tendency to over explain. (Less is more.)
  • become a better photographer. (With a $600 camera, I had better.)
  • get Sofie spayed, vaccinated, & licensed, so that we can take her to the dog park.
  • meet some of my California blogging friends. (Alicia, Kerri, Sarah, Diana, Katelin, & whoever else wants to meet silly old me, in the flesh.)
  • stop envying others, just because they are seemingly prettier, richer, more popular, sexier, skinnier, etc. & while I’m at it, embrace the inevitable fat dimples (cellulite) on my derriere.
  • find my niche; be it a writer, a painter, a jewelry maker, a photographer, a “fashionista”… or all of the above.
  • worry, frown, & cry a little less.
  • master the art of vegan baking; if not that, then succumb to the usage of eggs.
  • not censor myself… even if, for instance, I know my mother reads this blog.
  • have more sex. (My declaration of this goes with no longer wanting to censor myself, obviously.)
  • dance, dance, dance.

    That necklace is too fabulous.

And I just love your resolutions! I’m looking for my niche/passion as well. It’s hard when I have so many!

Get Vegan with a Vengeance out of the library. I swear her baking recipes are the BEST.

I’m rooting for you babe. I also agree that we need to take care of Sofie’s stuff. That can’t be put off any longer.

    This year will be blissful.

My resolution… expand my vocabulary by using words that aren’t normally in my character. Like finding words other than daunting and reclaim.

    I love you.

Congrats on winning the contest! Yayyy!!!! I love what you picked out as your prizes! That cardigan is gorgeous and the necklace is so cute!

I really like your resolutions … and I would love to meet up with you! I’m going to be in L.A. this month for a business trip — Jan. 28-30. I’m not sure what my schedule is/what time of day I’ll be free — but I mentioned to Kerri I’d like to meet up too! Maybe we could have a girls’ night out?

Happy new year to you too! I hope you had a wonderful time with your loved ones. I missed blogging while my blog was offline, but I needed the break. I (and the blog) needed a fresh start and i think it’s best this way :D

Awesome choices for using the gift card, you do look really natural. :)

And all very good “decisions” as well. I promise you will love vegan baking, it is not too hard and so much fun! Go get “Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World,” because it’s definitely one of my favorites…everything I have tried from that one had been perfect!

You’re beautiful, with & without make up. But, I like your New Year decisions very much. I’m procrastinating putting together some of mine, because I actually want to sit down and think about it for once instead of just scribbling out random things that I’d like at the moment.
    Have a good day :)

the cardi is adorable. lately i’ve been obsessed with all things layered and asymmetrical so i really like your cardigan!

jack and i cut daryl’s hair ourselves :) we invested in a cutter after the $30 petco one gave in within 5 cuts…and the ‘new’ one has been working great since! where do you take sophie? pasadena meet sounds fun :)

Awesome photo, awesome outfit! The color is absolutely rich and beautiful.

I’m a fan of the lights on the bookcase, too. I say keep them up all year! We have some around our window in the bedroom and I don’t want to take them down at all. Perhaps I won’t.

And I am right there with you on many of those resolutions – especially on being less envious, on having more sex (did I just type that publicly – eep!) and finding my niche. Best of luck to us both! :)

    PS: You’re amazing.
