“our memories depend on a faulty camera in our minds.”

My Christmas was amazing, devastating, laughter-inducing, sorrowful, & memorable; it was full of love, hope, disappointment, & tears. Basically, it was all over the place… but I wouldn’t have had it any other way.

The highlights of this holiday week was the surprise engagement of my mother, & the immaculate purchase of our Nikon D60 (!!!).

I cannot begin to describe the happenings of this past week, so I’ll let the photographs tell the story themselves.

(my sister, tangerine.)

[The next 4 pictures were taken by Lover on the way home from my mother's house. It was pitch dark outside, & nothing but the street lights & car's headlights illuminated the roads. He started snapping with the hopes to capture the essence of that kind of creepiness... & this is what was created instead. I think they're beautiful.]

When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence.– Ansel Adams

I hope everyone else’s holiday was just as gorgeous & complete.

Aw, I’m so glad that you guys ended up getting a new camera! Thank you for sharing all those lovely photos, too. You are going to have so much fun with the camera, I just know it.

    :)

I’ve felt the same about this Christmas, quite obviously – it was happy, frustrating, lazy, bittersweet and a million other things. But it’s over and we’re about to begin a new year – and I’m so ready.

I love your tree ornaments, I wish we’d kept the ones my brother and I made as little people…but sadly we didn’t…or at least, my Dad never uses them when decorating the tree. I can’t wait to have my own place.
