apricot’s closet: simple apparel, sans makeup.
tank & beanie, from American Apparel; shorts (which are not made of denim, but some sythentic material, to my dismay), from Ross; boots, from Payless long ago; jewelry is miscellaneous.
EDIT: I haven’t been feeling like myself lately. I’ve been inarticulate, melancholy & over thinking things; I am feeling a bit blue. Nothing is particularly spurring this on; it’ll pass within days, I’m sure. But, I’ve come to the conclusion that when I’m filled with such inexpressible feelings, it’s better to keep quiet & let the emotions dwindle on their own, rather than ramble/write on & on about nonsense in the heat of the moment.
As the saying goes: “If you’ve nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” & I really don’t have anything nice to say.
Come to think of it, I may be having an early quarter-life crisis. My 21st birthday is next Monday, after all…

on Tuesday, September 9th, 2008 at 4:29 pm:
If you’re having an early quarter-life crisis, I’m headed for a full-on quarter-life meltdown! I turned 25 today, and I’m feeling a mix of emotions. The boyfriend (yes, the boy in my “stripes” blog post) is taking me to a classy jazz joint in a bit. Hopefully, it’ll cheer me up!
No fuss girly girl!! You’ve go nothing but time on your hands! 21 is the best of the best. Welcome it with open arms, and live that year to the fullest. Like they say, “You’re only (fill age ranging from 16-25 here) once!” Hihi!

Hey! I perfectly understand you, the 20th birthday really upset me eheh..but what we can do is only living, I guess; time can’t be stopped:)
Btw, your outfits are amazing and I really like the way you write. Hope it’s ok if I link you on my blog!
on Wednesday, September 10th, 2008 at 4:49 am:
No need to feel down! you look great, to sheer you up i added you link ;)
on Wednesday, September 10th, 2008 at 4:51 am:
well, i know exactly how you feel about being a bit melancholic, when that happens to me i make no apologies for my mood, instead i sit with them for a day or so knowing that it will pass shortly.
on a lighter note: there’s something so casually refreshing about this outfit that i like.
on Wednesday, September 10th, 2008 at 6:47 am:
Oooh, I love your hair! And such a natural beauty, it’s refreshing to see bloggers more casual and not all styled up. Thanks for the lovely comment and I hope you feel less blue very soon!
on Wednesday, September 10th, 2008 at 11:50 am:
Sorry to hear you are feeling blue…the 20s can be a very dramatic and difficult time, I know!
Take care of yourself.

I have been eyeing that tank at AA all summer long. Now that its getting chilly here in Chicago, its too late to purchase but I must say it looks really great with that outfit. I especially love how the hat adds that darker touch, I guess you were still feeling bad ass from the fishnets. :)
Also I feel you with the whole quater-life crisis. I feel weird with my birthday coming up in November. Its so weird to watch your age get higher and higher. Not that I am not grateful to be allowed to see so many year but I can’t believe I’m already 22, its strange.
on Wednesday, September 10th, 2008 at 12:09 pm:
Don’t start having age-related crises now! When I turned 40 I looked back on all the previous times I felt old and thought how all those ages seem so young now.
on Wednesday, September 10th, 2008 at 9:57 pm:
Love the simplicity!
on Wednesday, September 10th, 2008 at 10:48 pm:
Hi! I just wanted to say thanks for the kind words on my blog. They definitely made me smile. And I love yours!
Side note – I LOVE UNDEROATH!

You are SO pretty! I have seriously not seen a chicer and more effortless look in ages. This outfit is perfection right from that adorable hat to the gorgeous boots. Kudos!
I do have moments like the one you’ve described more often than now. Suddenly nothing makes sense. I have found that some music and workout almost always help.

P.S. Would you like to exchange links? Love your blog!

Quite honestly I say “ramble/write on & on about nonsense in the heat of the moment” For me it’s the best way to vent and it acts as a catalyst to the stabilization of your emotions.
Well here’s to hoping your head space feels right again

I love how you set up your website. How did you make it like a blog? I ask because I am purchasing a domain for mine soon…I am sooo not tech savvvy:(
Love the basic tank. Hopefully we will bump into eachother on the streets and I can shoot ya.

@ Katia: My goodness! Happy Birthday. :] & you’re absolutely right. I’ll try to keep that in mind.
@ Sasi: I sometimes wish I could stop time, just so that I can really be fully involved in certain moments. & of course you may link me! :] No need to ask! Thank you so much.
@ sue: thank you! It did cheer me up a bit. ;]
@ the alchemist: thank you. :] I worried that it was a bit too plain…
@ Ca: thank you so much; both for the kind remarks & the well wishes. ;]
@ Always in Style: you’re telling me! A lot of drama… ;/
@ Kelly: I was feeling a little bad-ass, left over from the fishnets. :] & yes, it is weird to know you are another year older. I remember when I was wishing I was 10, & then 13 & then 16…
@ WendyB: You’re right; I’m certain I will look back at this nonsense & laugh. & you look amazing at 40. I wouldn’t have guessed.
@ Tiffany: thanks. :]
@ Amanda: You are most welcome. :] & thank you.
@ Ida: your comment made my day, entirely. thank you so much. =] Check your email, for I’ve written you a personal little note. ;]
@ Aaron: I think it’s best to do those things when you are articulate enough to express them. These days, I’ve been feeling so… weird that it’s hard for me to say what I want without sounding crazy. When I am articulate, I like to express myself, but rambling on & on doesn’t help me at all…

Hope you feel less in crisis soon, I’m the same age and often worry about where my life is headed and so on, hmm.
On a rather positive note, though, you look so great in such a simple pairing!
on Thursday, September 11th, 2008 at 8:23 pm:
thank you for stopping by and leaving a lovely comment.
life has a funny way of throwing our emotions around and so long as we don’t let the negativity get the better of us, life will continue being irie.
watch a movie you love or listen to some feel good music. the latter always works for me.
p.s. you still look great sans make-up.
on Friday, September 12th, 2008 at 9:09 am:

@ CC: Somehow, I missed your comment. But I did leave you a note in your email box. :]
@ shesdressingup: thank you so much! It’s comforting to know that I’m not the only one feeling overwhelmed. :]
@ itsoktosweat: I will most certainly do that; thank you for the suggestions. =] Those things lift me up, too & I’m actually starting to feel much better.
@ karine: thank you! & thank you. ;]
@ Couture Carrie: thank you so much. :]
@ Becca: I didn’t know they made them in turquoise!
