apricot’s closet: fashionably late.

Now that the misadventures of my database server mishaps are behind me, I can now proceed to reflect on the following fashion statements that were lost in the shuffle. I am lazy today (dressed in a white tee shirt, skinnies & chipping chocolate brown polish), not feeling it appropriate to post pictures of today’s outfit. But last week — or maybe it was the week before last? I’ve lost track of the days since all of this nonsense erupted — I compiled a few tasty (yes, tasty!) looking collaborations. One of which I managed to rock suspenders finally! That will be shown later.

Here is what was worn, without much effort:

Beret from H&M; Death Cab shirt was a gift from Lover after the first couple of dates; necklace is from forever21; black shorts & black sandals from Ross.

I never thought that I could actually pull off a hat. I always had this misconception that short-haired girls were off limits when it comes to head attire. But last summer, I fell in love with this little beret, for no other reason but it being cute. I had never liked even the idea of hats, but I was drawn to this darling little thing & after much thinking, I went back to H&M & purchased it. Eventually, I bought another hat just like this, but in black.

I haven’t mastered the way one should wear a beret, but the possibilities & styles are endless. & it’s perfect for that “It looks like rain” weather or the Bad Hair Day.

I always adore the way hats looks- on other people. I can never seem to pull ‘em off

@ nessa: and how! & thank you for stopping in. :]

@ laarni: I know the feeling. It was like pulling teeth when I walked out of the house in a hat. I felt like my head was deformed. It definitely takes some getting used to…

@ sandy: Death Cab fans unite! Ben Gibbard is my Mister (the male form of a mistress). I tell Lover all the time that if I happen to find myself in a position to be alone in a dark room with Ben, not to be upset if I get a little freaky. ;]

Looking so cute with your Death Cab. :]
I’ve recently embraced berets, too. Also, ok, how do you maintain such shiny, healthy looking hair? I feel kind of foolish asking that, but…yes, I’m going to trail off now.

Sigh. Death Cab. LOVE. I felt the same way about short hair and hats until I found my PERFECT knit beret beanie thing - it’s so cute with short hair and bangs. I love the color of yours!

@ Natalie: I use Kerastase shampoo & conditioner, which is an exclusive brand of high end hair products. & it really is — not trying to sound like a snob. The only reason I was able to purchase it (on a discount, too) was because I worked at a salon that specialized in Kerastase. It’s absolutely the best! I love it, but… when my supply is gone, that’s the end. It’s far too expensive to purchase regularly.

Also… I use Redken smooth down, heat glide, which keeps the frizzies down, as well as protects my hair from heat; I am an avid flat iron user. :]

@ denise: I adore your blog; I found you by stumbling around. I am so glad you enjoy my writings! That is very flattering. I am already a fan of yours. :]

@ Traci Anne: I know what you’re talking about, because I think you had a picture of this said hat? Where did you get it? I really want a beanie next. ;]

I can’t believe you doubted wearing hats! I wish I had short hair like yours so I’d look as adorable as you do in that hat, which is a gorgeous shade of blue btw..

Thank you, that is all very helpful! I’ve heard of Kerastase, I think my mom’s using it soon?
